Was just on Youtube, putzing about, playing a few different songs from various times: "Under Pressure" with Queen and David Bowie, George Michael's cover of "Somebody to Love," someone doing a covering of "Nothing Compares 2 U" written by Prince, the Cranberries "Zombie," Aretha Franklin's "Nessun Dorma" when she replaced Pavarotti...

Only later did I look at that and go, "Wait a second... all these people are dead now. The heck?"

Thank you to Brian May for still being alive at least (and everyone else in Queen who wasn't Freddie... and everyone in the Cranberries other than Dolores O'Riordan).

Just skipping though iTunes, and came across something.

"And So It Goes" by Billy Joel would make a remarkably Bruce Banner/Tony Stark theme.  Poor Bruce.  Although there are some echoes of the Cap in there.  Dang, that's a sad song.

Randomness is random.

I haven't done a music meme in a million years. Consequently, here's one. Standard fare, iTunes on random, songs in order, no skips, blah blah blah.

Summerboy? I'm not sure I've ever even heard that... )

Happy 2011!

Yup, almost wrote 2010, so the traditional can't-write-the-year-right-until-March thing continues. :)

Yuletide has been revealed, and I did write one big fic and one little treat. The treat was Under the Sea, a Little Mermaid (1988) fic. To be honest, I intended to title it Above the Sea, but I didn't catch the mistake until after it was already being viewed, so I left it as is.

The longer fic was Shadows of the Past, a Dungeons and Dragons cartoon fic that includes Eric/Diana (along with a load of other pairings, all pretty much canon). I included a suggested listening list of songs from 1983 or before (with two exceptions, one from '84 and one from '86) with each chapter. For the heck of it, here's a list of the songs and links to them on Youtube since I know at least four of them are pretty hard to find.

Totally 80s under here, along with a few notes )

A happy Yuletide to all, and to all a good 2011!
